CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Our desire is to partner with parents in the spiritual growth of their children. Through Bible study opportunities, music programs, mission programs, camps, and just plain fun, we strive to provide quality experiences through which a life-long commitment to Jesus Christ can be made.

OUR MINISTRIES

Sunday school: A time of Bible study for the whole family. Through games, stories, and songs, children will develop not only a basic understanding of the Bible but also truths from the Bible that they can apply in their lives each week. Also, each month they will receive a magazine to help them develop a daily time with God. Sunday School meets at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday in the Children’s Department.

Children’s Choirs: 

Music Makers Choir is made up of 1st & 2nd graders and meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. in Room 309 on the Children’s Hallway (2nd Floor). Through music activities, singing, and playing instruments, this group continues to build upon what they learned in preschool music groups and is beginning to learn how to read music as they explore pitches, rhythms, and music signs. As we are teaching our children how to love God, learn about Him and His Word, and worship Him through music, be assured of this: We want each child to grow steadily toward salvation in Christ. The Music Makers join with the Mini Music Makers and the Young Musicians to present Christmas and Spring music programs to the church family. This group is Co-directed by Mrs. Karen Kittrell and Mrs. Bonnie Henry.

Young Musicians Choir is made up of 3rd thru 6th graders and meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. in Room 308 on the Children’s Hallway (2nd Floor). As children age into Young Musicians Choir, they are presented with more opportunities to sing in Worship times, go even more in depth musically and spiritually in the spiritual and musical activities they encounter, and are learning songs we believe will stay with them for a very long time, if not their entire lives. Here’s something that is a proven fact: When lyrics are wed to melody and rhythm, it is often permanently seared into our memories. We take that very seriously as we choose Biblical truth, scripture verses, and song lyrics to teach during the choir year. Our prayer is that each child comes to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Young Musicians Choir leads out in Christmas and Spring programs and is directed by Mr. Austin Crabtree.

BLAST (Bible Learning and Service Time): Meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. for grades one through six. Children study the Bible, learn about missions, and have fun activities. 

Vacation Bible School: A ministry designed to reach people of all ages, leading them to know and respond to Jesus Christ as led by the Holy Spirit. VBS is a fun-filled,  spiritual adventurous week for children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th Grade that provides concentrated Bible Study, worship, crafts, music missions, snacks, and recreation.
