How We Got Our Bible and
Why We Can Trust It
Dr. Matt Buckles – Chapel at 5:00 p.m. (No book costs)

Sessions: September 12th, 19th, 26th; October 3rd, 17th, 24th, 31st; November 7th, 14th; 21st and 28th

Ever wonder how the sixty-six books of the Bible came into existence? With some apparent inconsistencies and the archaic language of many Bible translations, many wonder if the Bible is something to live by in this present age.

In the eleven-week in-depth study, Dr. Matt Buckles will share an exhaustive insight on the history and integrity of the Holy Scriptures. Learning interesting facts about the Bible will be part of the teaching experience. These and other questions will be answered: What were the “He” and “She” Bibles? What translation of the Bible is most accurate? What is the “canon” of Scripture? What is the Apocrypha? What is the significance of the Latin Vulgate and the Dead Sea Scrolls? What is significant about the year, 1455 A.D.? Who were John Wycliffe, John Hus, and William Tyndale? How did Johan Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press impact Christendom in a significant way?

After completing this course, participants will not only have a greater understanding of the history of the Bible, but should be able to give a more intelligent response on why the Bible is applicable and trustworthy today.

Sessions: September 12th, 19th, and October 3rd and 17th

Feel stuck in the day-to-day of life and ministry? It’s time to get moving! This four-week E-Group class helps participants understand the health condition of their spirit. An evaluation of present conditions and a discovery of new ways to improve spiritual health will be presented.

CONNECT highlights the importance of worship, prayer, and fellowship in everyday life. GROW “in sprit and in truth.” Knowing God’s Word and how it makes a difference in the day-to-day is key to a balanced life. SERVE alongside followers of Christ – it feeds souls. GO moves believers outside of the church walls into every part of the community and the world.

Connect, Grow, Serve, Go must impact you, the individual, before it can permeate your circle of friends, your Bible study group, the church as a whole. We all need a balanced spiritual diet to remain fit and able to serve God in the ways He has gifted us.

Forgotten God (Francis Chan)

Scotty Swillie – Room #108 at 5:00 p.m. ($10.00 book cost)

Sessions: September 12th, 19th, 26th; October 3rd, 17th, 24th and 31st

Do these statements by Francis Chan, challenge you? “The benchmark of success in church services has become more about attendance than the movement of the Holy Spirit.”…”There is a big gap between what we read in Scripture about the Holy Spirit and how most believers and churches operate today.”…”Sadly most believers and churches are known for talent and intellect rather than for supernatural power.”

This seven-week E-Group course will help participants to aggressively seek the Holy Spirit…to be desperate and humbled before Him. The class will look at the theology of the Holy Spirit and look at characteristics of the supernatural church. Participants will learn the key in keeping in step with the Spirit, thus gaining strength and wisdom from Him. As the class comes to a close, participants should see a greater demonstration of the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in their life and the life of the church.
