The Sanctuary Choir
Rehearsal: Wednesdays 6:15 – 7:15 p.m.
Place: Choir Room (Adjacent to the Fellowship Hall)
The Sanctuary Choir is one of the most dynamic and potentially life-changing ministry groups at First Baptist Vicksburg. Through the Sanctuary Choir, members are able to develop deeper relationships, grow in their own spiritual walks, and most importantly, offer their lives and their musical gifts as a sacrifice of praise as we lead our church family in worship. In addition to our worship leadership role (10:50 a.m. each week), the Sanctuary Choir regularly leads in special worship services for Christmas and Easter. Our “Vespers at First” is always held the Sunday prior to Christmas at 4:30 pm.
Because worship is the most important thing we do, we remind ourselves of the truth “We Were Made to Worship!” At First Baptist, we are not hung up on style. We have an eclectic repertoire because God uses many styles of music to touch our lives. The music we sing and share each week challenges us to love God more deeply and serve Him more faithfully.
If you are interested in this ministry, we ask that you commit to attend ONE REHEARSAL and ONE WORSHIP SERVICE. If you do that, we believe you will find the Adult Choir is a ministry that can have a tremendous impact on your life as you grow in your walk with Jesus Christ. You can contact Shirley George, Ministry Assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also call the church office to speak with either of these. For more information or to let us know you will be attending a rehearsal call us at 601 636-2493.

Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 6:15- 7:15 p.m.
Place: Worship Center
Word from Minster of Music: The important place of instrumental music in worship can be traced back to its beginnings in 1 Chronicles 15. Instruments were used to announce the coming of the Ark of the Covenant. The ark represented the presence of God. Thus, instruments were used to announce the coming of the presence of the Lord. The FBC Orchestra is continuing to develop its ministry to dynamically announce God’s presence each week in worship.
“Just as the earliest musicians in 1 Chronicles 15 were appointed or called to service,” we believe that our instrumentalists should also have a strong sense of calling to this ministry.” If you play an instrument or would like to get back to playing your instrument and have a desire to pursue your call, there is a place for you in the FBC Orchestra.
If you would like additional information or want to attend a rehearsal, please contact Jennifer Tillotson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here at FBC we are always looking to start new vocal ensembles made up of adults or students. At present we have one adult ensemble. Members of this ensemble are required to be members of the Sanctuary Choir. This group sings periodically in our worship services, assists in leading worship during revivals and leads worship during the summer months while the Sanctuary Choir takes its summer break. This group is presently at its membership capacity. If you wish to be part of an ensemble please contact Shirley George at email@example.com.
